Swami Khecaranatha (Nathaji)

With a mastery etched from over five decades of disciplined inner practice and selfless service, Khecaranatha is an authentic adept in the ƚakti Transmission Lineage of Bhagavan Nityananda and Swami Rudrananda.

Nathaji teaches from his personal experience and revelations. His study of the richness and wisdom of ancient tantric scripture provides a means to articulate the teachings of his lineage within the larger context of these powerful nondual traditions — while emphasizing the essence of his teaching, which is to empower students to discover their own innate divinity.

The Significance of Parā

The recognition and honoring of the Goddess Kuáč‡ážalinÄ« (Parā) underlies all of Trika ParamParā — the nondual tradition that beautifully articulates the teachings and practices of my lineage. At the core of Trika lies a comprehensive understanding of how the all-pervasive field of Consciousness expresses Itself by Its inherent power of Úakti.

The true essence of Trika is that Consciouness (Úiva), Energy (Úakti), and the Individual (jÄ«va) are One — that our very embodiment is the living expression of that union. This triadic union is a continuum of Oneness.

The view of Trika is that the Oneness of Consciousness and Energy is attained through the practice of Kuáč‡ážalinÄ« Sādhana. In this tradition, the powers of the Goddess are the means by which knowledge of the Self is attained. Therefore, Parā-Vyāpti is the pervasion of the energies of knowing through the universe of our own consciousness, the very powers by which we create and express our freedom.

Trika goes beyond just intellectual knowledge. It reflects a divine recognition that presents itself in the form of wisdom-teachings, practices, and the transmission of energy — a celebration of the pathway to discovering our TrueSelf. The transmission of knowledge arises like a spring from its unseen source via the awareness of individuals who have made the journey into the Light. This wisdom from beyond is transmitted through the vessel of a living lineage – kept alive and flowing through the agents of revelation.

In this immersion Nathaji will help you understand the key teachings and practices of Parā-Vyāpti and how to apply them to your life.

  • Explore the sacred teachings of the Úakta tradition that recognize the liberating power of the Goddess.

  • Discover how your body becomes the vehicle for deep inner-space exploration, and your own experience is the laboratory in which to gain insight into Awareness.

  • Participate in a rarely-available initiation Puja invoking the Goddess Kuáč‡ážalinÄ« (in-person only).

  • Learn powerful meditation practices you can continue at home to further enhance what you receive during the immersion.

  • Engage with an active community of dedicated practitioners.

Although the nondual Trika tradition is an ancient system, it is utterly pertinent in contemporary, worldly life, applying to both the individual and collective potential, Nathaji will help us to respond to this important question: How can we create a better world?

The Parā Devi Puja and the Installation of the Trident

During the immersion we will perform this initiation, by which the sādhaka ascends progressively through the inner levels of consciousness is done through the visualization and energetic installation of ƚiva’s Trident projected along the central axis/channel.

The prongs of the inner trident are the "throne" on which the three Goddesses of the Trika reside. Named Parā, Parāparā, and Aparā, they represent the Divine powers of will, knowledge, and action, and are the triadic aspects of the one Goddess who embodies the energy of Kuáč‡ážalinÄ«.

This important and powerful initiation, when combined with the direct awakening of Kuáč‡ážalinÄ« (called the Initiation by Piercing, or direct Úatki transmission), is considered to be the higher initiation within the nondual Úaiva/Úakta tradition.

Traditionally, these initiations are only performed in person - they will not be shown online.
(An abbreviated version of the ceremony will be performed during the January 1-15 Immersion. The full ceremony will be performed each week of the January 24 - February 7 Immersion.)

Christopher Wallis, one of the most important scholar/practitioners of our time, and who is deeply connected to and influenced by the Nityananda lineage, stated, "Nathaji is a key figure in the revival of ƚaiva Tantra in the 21st century and he teaches from an experiential point of view, which is ultimately more valuable than the intellectual point of view."

What Students Are Saying About Nathaji...

Nathaji is a genuine and generous teacher, guiding from the heart, and available on so many levels. He demonstrates such unconditionality and focus of purpose that he always inspires me to re-dedicate myself to love, time and again.

Each retreat is a space of deep inquiry, subtle transmission, and practical integration. Whether exploring foundational practices or the subtleties of nonduality, Nathaji brings remarkable insight from his own self-realization.

Meeting Nathaji has allowed me to understand spiritual growth and trust my process on a much deeper level. I am amazed that when I bring my questions I am met with simple truth that opens my experience to the Self.
